About
“Synthesizing the best of the classic liberal arts canon with a deliriously diverse range of literary, philosophical, and historic sources, all for the purpose of shining light on present-day political and intellectual problems.”
–Harvard University’s Nieman Journalism Lab
“Of all the hot princes, gay or otherwise, [Blunderbuss is] our favorite.”
–Tin House
In operation from 2013 through 2018, Blunderbuss Magazine was a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
This website will stay online indefinitely so you can continue to access the work of the hundreds of talented writers & artists we had the good fortune to publish.
