Join us for a discussion of what it’s going to take to beat Donald Trump. We all need a place to debrief protests and actions we’ve been to and to discuss what kind of movement we’re building together.

-“How to Build a Mass Movement,” Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor. To build a mass movement against Trump, we have to engage newcomers productively. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/01/womens-march-dc-trump-protests-inauguration/

-“No Time for Despair,” Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor. To defeat Trump, we have to build democratic, multiracial, militant organizations with a foundation in solidarity. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/01/trump-black-lives-racism-sexism-anti-inauguration/

-“Our Alternative,” Bhaskar Sunkara. We need a socialist politics that challenges the Democratic Party’s leadership, not just the Right. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/01/socialist-left-alternative-liberal-establishment-democratic-party-trump/

-“The Weimar Analogy,” Daniel Bessner and Udi Greenberg. Comparing Trump’s America to fascist Germany only fuels elites’ antidemocratic fantasies. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2016/12/trump-hitler-germany-fascism-weimar-democracy/

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
