Mutual Aid Talks/Panels/Discussions
Immigration Law

The NYU Department of Social & Cultural Analysis (SCA) and NYU School of Law’s Immigrant Rights Clinic (IRC) bring you the opporunity to educate yourselves on the latest information about immigrant rights. The event will consist of an informative panel discussion followed by a legal clinic where students can engage in one-on-one meetings with lawyers with questions.

(This event is co-sponsored by NYU Asian Pacific American Coalition, Black Student Union at NYU, NYU Steinhardt Black Graduate Society, LUCHA at NYU, NYU Dream Team, and Black and Brown Coalition at NYU.)

Panel Discussion Speakers:
Prof Alina Das–NYU Law School and Co-Director of NYU Immigration Rights Clinic. She will be addressing the implications of President Trump’s executive orders.

Jairo Guzman–Director, Coalicion Mexicana, serving immigrants in NYC metro area. He will address how students can participate in providing immigrant emergency services.

Fr. Jose Idiaquez– President of Universidad Centroamericana, Nicaragua, & Rabbi David Adelson–Dean of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, will address social justice tenets of Christianity and Judaism, and the activism faith calls forth.

Prof. Elizabeth Ouyang–Civil Rights Immigration Attorney and SCA adjunct faculty. She will be addressing issues concerning students with DACA and their rights.
