General Anti-Trump

Let’s make some glorious noise and tell Congress what we really think about the Trump administration!

It’s been over a month since Trump took office. We have seen blatant attacks on our communities, a new administration that has no respect or value for basic human dignities and a President who is so corrupt there have been multiple calls for investigation. From the Muslim ban to ICE Raids and this week with Trump telling schools to ignore the law that protects trans kids in school — we say enough is enough!

On Tuesday, President 45 will address a joint session of Congress for the first time. And we say: Don’t watch it and join us instead. We invite you to a Cacerolazo (casserole): a form of protest that consists of a group of people making noise by banging pots, pans, and utensils that is popular in Latin American countries.

We will gather at Brooklyn Borough Hall near the first court that struck down Trump’s travel ban. Instead of watching a speech that will undermine our communities, we will have the People’s Address.

So we invite you to join us bring your pots, pans, utensils, and your family to a protest.

If you are not in NYC we want you to have a Cacerolazo in your city or town using #ResistTrumpTuesdays #PeoplesAddress. And put it up on our map workingfamilies.org/resistmap

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
