Three Poems

By Christopher DeWeese @chris_deweese ·

Somebody to Shove

In a word I’m over
I’m wasted on the youth

I’m saying the truth
Like a Vulcan in the sky

I have improved
I’ve sailed for the moon

In European dreams
All my you are waiting

You want some money
But I want to shun things

Tomorrow

Music comforts me
Like a face in an empty land

Like I could find a lung
To sing my you away

I know some dudes hate things
But this is just how I am

I am my weight in hair
I bury myself in the sand

I’m fed up in the bedroom
I’m drinking on the beach

What it’s Like

I’m just trying
To get what I deserve

A pet sea-lion
An online riot

I’m back on the beach
Throwing rocks for charity

Take a sample from me
Take it from my heart

I’ve got a damnation
The waves all say goodbye

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
