Gentrification Housing

Speak out, or we’ll be kicked out! Join our Open Mic, participate in a night of poetry, songs, storytelling and more, about the issue that hits us all: displacement.

High rents, long travels to school and work, crowded apartments, evictions – we devote our lives to make New York City run, is that how we are supposed to be treated? Meanwhile, the City colludes with luxury developers to destroy our communities for thte benefit of the rich and pushes us further away. Do we continue to remain silent and let our lives deteriorate, or should we stand up and say: enough is enough?

Share your experience, voice your anger, talk about your struggle, connect to upcoming events and actions against displacement and gentrification, inspire and be inspired!

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
