Corporate Accountability Environment

Join over 300 community and campus organizations from across New York State that have had enough of the fossil fuel industry’s deceptive practices, attacks on science, and corruption of the democratic process.

NY Attorney General Schneiderman, along with other state attorneys general, is investigating whether the most powerful oil companies in the world committed fraud.

Recently disclosed documents show that the most prominent and recognizable oil and gas companies, whose logos appear on gas stations throughout New York, the United States, and the entire globe, knew their actions were causing climate change decades ago. Further, their own scientists concluded that the continued burning of fossil fuels would have catastrophic impacts on life on Earth.

As President Trump’s appointment of oil and gas insiders to lead important regulatory agencies shows, the oil and gas industry’s influence over the environmental policies of the federal government necessitates strong state accountability action.

NY AG Schneiderman’s investigation has the potential to yield both justice for those wronged and the possibility that pressure on the industry could result in significant climate action that would benefit the entire world.

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
