Join us in a de-escalation training workshop with Amnesty International Field Director Kalaya’an Mendoza to learn how to best intervene in difficult situations. Learn how you can be part of the solution to end discrimination in your community.

AGENDA
6:00 PM – 6:45 PM: HEALING SPACE for participants to voice their fears, concerns, and questions
6:45 PM – 7:30 PM: SITUATIONAL AWARENESS Training for participants to laern how to have a plan of action
7:30 PM – 8:30 PM*: DE-ESCALATION TRAINING for people to learn how to identify emotional anchors, and how to provide frameworks and tools to use in their day-to-day life

*Additional time slotted to allow for live translation
Live translation provided in: Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Bengali!
Dinner and refreshments will be provided for all participants.

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
