General Anti-Trump Jewish

The American Jewish Establishment has for remained all but silent in the face of Trump’s policies that not only imperil democracy but encourage violence. It has failed to register concern as anti-Semites, bigots, and misogynists became emboldened by Trump’s rise. This silence is disappointing but not surprising, considering the Jewish establishment’s longtime suppression of dissent on similar policies in Israel. And as we have long known, its defense of a status quo of endless occupation of the Palestinian territories, now in its 50th year, is a moral disaster.

Join IfNotNow for our BROOKLYN COMMUNITY ACTION MEETING to learn more about our upcoming action at AIPAC’s policy conference in March. We will delve deeper into the story and values of IfNotNow, spend time growing our community with one another, and get ready to take action around our largest campaign of the #JewishResistance.

The millions of us who took to the streets the day after the inauguration weren’t just marching against Trump — we were declaring our refusal to be complicit with the violence that his administration represents. Make no mistake — the American Jewish establishment’s silence in regards to both Netanyahu’s and Trump’s administrations is complicity. We will resist.

It is also Shabbat, which means that we will celebrate SHABBAT IFNOTNOW STYLE — with Shabbat ritual and a dinner after the event. All food will be vegan or vegetarian. There will be food and drinks provided, but feel free to bring extra food, as long as it’s vegan or vegetarian. We ask for a $5 – $10 donation to cover the costs of our space and food. Please bring food, wine or juice to share!

Invite anyone and everyone. Let’s make sure that our voice is so loud that the Jewish Establishment can’t ignore us!

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
