Workshops and Conferences
Arts General Anti-Trump

Using the body and voice, through movement, theater, song and sound-making, we will engage with the overwhelming challenges of our current political moment and enact our joyful and creative resistance.

This 3-hour workshop draws from Theater of the Oppressed and Circle Singing. These activities illuminate our inherent personal and collective power, asking, What can we learn from our bodies and voices about how to be resilient in the face of this new frightening administration? How can we use our talents and histories to create more justice in our communities?

$20/Donation, Space is limited so please pre-register at Eventbrite tickets above.

Ellen Baxt is a poet working in adult literacy. She has been a practitioner of Theater of the Oppressed for 12 years, facilitating community groups to tell their stories of injustice and problem-solve through theater.

Jesse Goldman is a singer, teacher, and former community organizer. He has been a facilitator of Theater of the Oppressed for 12 years as well as a practitioner of Circle Singing.

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
