The #NotInOurCity working group of #GetOrganizedBK has resolved to stand up to hate crimes every time they happen – by organizing a silent vigil at Grand Central Terminal. So far, we’ve stood together against Islamophobic assaults, anti-Semitic graffiti, and an attack by skinheads on students who were wearing an anti-fascist sticker.

In recent days, there have been multiple bomb threats made against Jewish Community Centers all across the country, including three in Staten Island. Students had to be evacuated from all of them.

Join the #NotInOurCity crew for a peaceful, silent, one-hour vigil at Grand Central Terminal to show that we won’t normalize or tolerate hatred, harassment, bias attacks or bias-based threats in our city. Bring a sign (without sticks) that reflects our peaceful vigilance against hate.

ABOUT

We are Blunderbuss Magazine, a web magazine of arts, culture, and politics, an ordnance of fire and improvisation. What ties together these essays, stories, poems, photographs, comics, and other bits of aesthetic shrapnel is a common attitude of visceral humanism. We aim for earnest noise. We want to splash in the mud of lived experience, to battle for a radical empathy, and to provide a megaphone to howling assertions of human subjectivity.
