Andrew Slater is currently an English lecturer at the American University of Iraq in Sulaimani. He served for ten years in the US Army with tours to Iraq and Afghanistan and received an MFA in fiction from Columbia University. His fiction has appeared in and the anthology Fire and Forget by Da Capo Press. His non-fiction has appeared in The Daily Beast and The New York Times.
